The Exchange to Operate Stock Market Until the 30th This Year... Opening on January 4 Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The stock market will be closed on the 31st due to the year-end holiday. Accordingly, the domestic stock market will operate until the 30th this year, and will open from January 4th next year.
The Korea Exchange announced on the 24th that December 31, 2020, has been designated as a year-end holiday, so the securities and derivatives markets will operate until December 30 this year, and the regular securities and derivatives markets in 2021 will open at 10 a.m. on January 4.
The ex-dividend date for December fiscal year-end corporations is the 29th, and if stocks are purchased by the 28th, dividends from December fiscal year-end listed companies can be received.
The year-end holiday on the 31st is also excluded from the settlement date. In the case of over-the-counter derivatives CCP clearing, normal operation continues without a year-end holiday.
The trading hours on January 4, 2021, the first trading day of the new year, will be temporarily changed according to the stock market opening ceremony.
