Ha Tae-kyung: "Moon Jae-in must clarify whether he was deceived by Cho Kuk or condoned him"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, raised his voice demanding "President Moon Jae-in must answer" regarding the arrest of Jung Kyung-shim, a professor at Dongyang University and wife of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk.
On the 24th, Ha said through Facebook, "Yesterday's court ruling confirmed that most of the criminal allegations against the Cho Kuk family were true. Now President Moon must answer."
He stated, "'The Cho Kuk incident' began when President Moon appointed Cho Kuk as Minister of Justice," adding, "He must answer the public why he appointed Cho Kuk as Minister of Justice despite shaking the country for a year and a half, whether he knowingly overlooked the crimes of the Cho Kuk family or was deceived without knowing."
Ha said, "In the past, regardless of progressive or conservative administrations, many ministerial appointments were withdrawn, and most of the reasons for those withdrawals were minor compared to the suspicions surrounding Cho Kuk's family," adding, "However, President Moon did not stop and pushed forward with the appointment."
He pointed out, "He even mentioned a personal 'debt of the heart' regarding covering up allegations of crimes by public officials," adding, "If he had the will to strictly punish crimes by high-ranking officials, he would never have said such a thing."
