KOSPI Rises on Net Buying by Individuals and Foreigners, Reaches '2780 Level'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] On the 24th, the KOSPI showed strength in the early session, supported by net buying from individual and foreign investors.
As of 9:31 AM, the KOSPI stood at 2,783.91, up 24.09 points (0.87%) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened at 2,762.60, up 2.78 points (0.1%) from the previous close.
By investor type, individuals and foreigners net bought 9.8 billion KRW and 54.7 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, institutions were the sole net sellers with 54.4 billion KRW.
Among the top 10 KOSPI stocks by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (2.44%) and SK Hynix (1.29%) rose. Celltrion (-1.97%) and NAVER (-0.53%) declined.
The KOSDAQ also rose by 1.71 points (0.19%) to 924.88 compared to the previous day. In the market, individuals net sold 25.9 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions net bought 21.1 billion KRW and 10.9 billion KRW respectively.
