The National Health Insurance Service Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters (Director Jang Su-mok) held a commemorative gift delivery ceremony for the ‘Love Companion Plant Growing Project’ on the morning of the 23rd at the Busan Youth Support Center.
The companion plant growing project is a campaign to promote flower consumption for flower farms that suffered hardships due to COVID-19 this year. It generates sales for self-support business groups and supports the self-reliance and independence of the working poor.
The project was planned with the intention of providing a foundation for out-of-school youth to build character, foster cooperation, and grow into healthy members of society.
Through this project, 300 companion plants were delivered to the Busan Youth Support Center and alternative schools. Among the companion plant pots nurtured with the cooperation and dedication of youth over three months, 21 were selected as outstanding cases and received commemorative gifts this time.
The NHIS Busan-Gyeongnam Headquarters has continuously supported education and activity expenses for out-of-school youth, significantly increasing their pass rates for the qualification exam and college entrance rates.
They were also recognized for their steady efforts to nurture future human resources and received a ministerial citation from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
An NHIS official said, “We have been working together with the Busan Youth Support Center to consider and collaborate for the emotional development and healthy growth of out-of-school youth.”
