SK Inno, Live Online Sunrise Broadcast from Ulsan CLX
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The morning scene of the nation’s famous sunrise spots, which used to be crowded with people on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2021, is expected to be quite different. This is due to restrictions on gatherings caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). In the untact era, responses are also untact. SK Innovation will live stream the first sunrise of 2021 on YouTube.
SK Innovation plans to broadcast live the sunrise viewed from one of its production bases, Ulsan Complex (Ulsan CLX), on January 1 at 7 a.m. for about an hour through its official YouTube channel under the title “2021, Reuniting with Precious Everyday Life, Once Again Cheer Up.”
The sunrise event will be hosted in a three-way relay format, with SBS Sports announcer Kim Se-yeon leading the studio, general public participating via video calls, and live footage of the Ulsan sunrise being connected.
Those who wish to participate in the video live stream can receive more detailed information on SK Innovation’s official Facebook page and apply by the 28th.
About 50 people will be selected through a lottery, and those chosen will directly participate in the sunrise live stream on SK Innovation’s YouTube channel via video chat program to make their New Year’s wishes. The broadcast of the sunrise event can be viewed by anyone on SK Innovation’s YouTube channel regardless of whether they applied for video participation.
Within the vast 2.5 million pyeong area of SK Innovation’s Ulsan CLX, there are several spots to enjoy the sunrise. This broadcast will capture the sunrise in the area where crude oil storage tanks are clustered. This location, adjacent to the sea, is an “excellent sunrise spot” accessible only to Ulsan CLX employees and staff, known to the public but never visited by them. Every year on the first day, Ulsan CLX has held a sunrise event here.
Additionally, SK Innovation has a production base in Incheon simultaneously with Ulsan. This means the company is the first in South Korea to greet the sun and the last to see it off, which adds special significance to this event.
