Gwanak-gu, Special Eco Mileage Points for Fine Dust Provided
From December to March next year, additional Eco Mileage special points awarded for energy savings... Members reducing energy use compared to the previous 2 years can earn up to 12,000 mileage points
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) has encouraged residents to participate in energy saving during the fine dust seasonal management period, which operates from December to March of the following year.
This period is when ultrafine dust emissions increase due to seasonal factors, and high concentrations of fine dust frequently occur due to heating, etc. The district decided to provide ‘Eco Mileage Seasonal Management Special Points’ to reduce fine dust.
The ‘Eco Mileage Seasonal Management Special Points’ are points awarded when energy usage is reduced by more than 20% compared to the previous two years. Members who reduce usage by more than 20% receive 10,000 mileage points worth approximately 10,000 KRW, and those who reduce by more than 30% receive 12,000 mileage points worth approximately 12,000 KRW.
These special points are provided separately from the regular Eco Mileage evaluation conducted every six months, allowing additional special points to be awarded based on the energy reduction rate on top of the existing Eco Mileage.
The validity period of the awarded Eco Mileage is five years, and there are various ways to use it, such as ▲ converting to cash ▲ paying local taxes and apartment management fees ▲ exchanging for traditional market Onnuri gift certificates ▲ donating to energy-poor groups, enabling energy saving and sharing simultaneously.
To join Eco Mileage, applications can be made through the Seoul Eco Mileage website, or at the local community service center or Gwanak-gu Green Environment Division.
