Gwangjin-gu Office IoT Parking Lot Established... Real-Time Parking Status Check
Real-Time Parking Status Available on Building Entrance Electronic Display and Website
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has established an IoT system in the parking lot inside the district office building to enhance the convenience of residents visiting the office, and began operation on the 23rd.
The district office building is an aging structure over 50 years old, and the parking lot is small relative to its size, causing congestion during entry and exit and long waiting times for parking, which has caused significant inconvenience to residents.
In response, the district installed wireless vehicle detectors that can confirm parking occupancy in all 54 parking spaces within the building, creating a system that transmits real-time information.
The transmitted parking status is categorized into general vehicles, compact cars, electric vehicles, and disabled parking spaces, and is provided in real-time via an electronic display board at the office entrance and on the district website (Gwangjin Introduction → Directions).
With the ability to check parking status in real-time, residents are expected to be able to anticipate parking availability in advance, improving issues such as vehicle congestion and lack of parking spaces.
