Born in 1966, the new Vice Minister Jeong graduated from Daegu High School and Sungkyunkwan University with a degree in Public Administration. He earned a master's degree in Public Administration from Seoul National University and a doctorate in Education from the University of Georgia, USA. He passed the 34th Administrative Examination and has served as Director of Student Welfare Policy at the Ministry of Education, Deputy Superintendent of Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, and Director of the Safety Information Bureau at the Ministry of Education.
