View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 23rd that it has developed labor rights teaching materials linked to the elementary school curriculum and will distribute them to elementary schools within the district.
This is the first initiative among metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide and is a teacher's guidebook. It consists of a total of 12 topics and was developed to raise awareness about labor and to revitalize labor rights education in schools.
The content of labor rights education included in the 2015 revised elementary school curriculum was reviewed and analyzed, and it is expected to be linked with subjects or used in creative experiential activities.
From the 24th, the teaching material booklets will be delivered to elementary schools. Anyone can download the files from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Student Rights Education Center website.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education plans to conduct related training sessions to increase the utilization of the teaching materials.

Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "Following the teaching materials for high schools and middle schools, labor rights materials linked to the elementary school curriculum have been developed," adding, "I hope they will be actively used in schools and that teacher-centered labor rights education will be further revitalized."
