View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Ajou University selects 27.1% (573 students) of its total admissions through the regular admission process. This is an increase of 97 students compared to last year.
Admissions are conducted in groups A and D. Group A only selects students through the General Admission 1 (School of Medicine) and Rural Students Admission (School of Medicine) categories, while Group D includes General Admission 2 (excluding School of Medicine), General Admission 3 (cross-admission), Defense IT Talent 2 Admission, Rural Students Admission, Specialized High School Graduates Admission, Basic Livelihood Security Recipients, Lower-income Class, and Single-parent Family Support Admission categories.
For the CSAT scores, Korean and Mathematics use standard scores, the average of two subjects' self-converted scores (utilizing percentile scores) is used for the Inquiry subjects, and English and Korean History use separate converted scores by grade. The self-converted scores for the Inquiry section will be disclosed on the Ajou University Admissions Office website after the CSAT results are announced. The converted scores for English have a larger deduction starting from grade 3 based on the original 100-point scale, and Korean History has no deduction up to grade 4, with subsequent deductions of -5, -10, -20, -30, and -40 applied.
General Admission 1 (School of Medicine) and Rural Students Admission (School of Medicine) are conducted in Group A with 95% CSAT and 5% interview weighting, selecting 10 and 1 students respectively. The CSAT subject weightings are Korean 20%, Mathematics 40%, English 10%, and Inquiry 30%. The interview is a blind interview based on the applicant's school records, comprehensively evaluating personality and communication skills. Multiple interviewers evaluate one applicant, with each interview lasting about 10 minutes. Past interview questions will be released on the Admissions Office website before the regular application period.
General Admissions 2 and 3 are conducted in Group D with 100% CSAT scores, selecting 455 students. The natural sciences track requires Korean, Mathematics Type A, English, and Science Inquiry subjects, while the humanities track requires Korean, Mathematics Type B, English, and Social Inquiry subjects.
