Healing Forest Garden Created at the Foot of Bukhansan Mountain
Gangbuk-gu and Daewoo Construction Sign Basic Agreement for Free Use of Green Spaces... Urban Green Recreation Area Planned by 2022
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) signed a green space utilization agreement with Daewoo Construction on the 17th.
The main point of the agreement is that Daewoo Construction will allow free use of 17 parcels of land, including San 128, Suyu-dong (72,978㎡), owned by the company, as a resting space for citizens.
In this area, the "Bukhansan Healing Forest Garden," which combines ecological experiences and the therapeutic effects of the forest, is planned to be established.
According to the agreement, it will be possible to install resident convenience facilities such as walking trails and rest areas on the land. Measures necessary for green space preservation, such as tree protection and prevention of soil collapse, can also be taken.
Additionally, efforts to enhance forest biodiversity and maintenance of outdoor sports spaces will be carried out.
The land covered by this agreement accounts for 94.57% of the planned area for the "Bukhansan Healing Forest Garden." Although this area is not part of the national park, it is located on the boundary and has consistently raised demands for forest landscape and resource utilization suitable for natural green areas.
The contract period is five years, and Daewoo Construction, which provides the green space free of charge, will receive benefits such as property tax reductions.
Since September last year, the district has been conducting the "Basic Service for the Bukhansan Forest Garden Creation Project," which is now in its final stages. The project aims to preserve forest land while enhancing public interest. It plans to open in 2022 with experience and play facilities, as well as a forest healing center.
