Ulleungdo Requests Government to Establish Screening Clinic at Pohang Passenger Terminal
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] On the 22nd, Ulleung-gun announced that it has requested the government to install a screening clinic at the departure passenger terminal so that local residents and tourists visiting Ulleung from the mainland can undergo COVID-19 testing before boarding the passenger ship.
During the winter season, the ferry service between Ulleung and the mainland departs only from Pohang.
Therefore, Ulleung-gun explained that it requested the installation of a screening clinic equipped with 'rapid antigen test kits' at the Pohang passenger terminal.
Kim Byung-su, the mayor of Ulleung-gun, stated, "Considering the absolute shortage of medical facilities and personnel in island areas, this is an essential measure for proactive COVID-19 prevention."
