[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) will provide loans totaling 15 billion KRW under the '2021 Public Meal Operation Activation Policy Fund' to establish a stable supply chain for public meal ingredients.
In particular, next year, the support scale has increased by 20% from 12.5 billion KRW this year to 15 billion KRW to prioritize the supply of domestically produced agricultural and food products to public meals, and the number of eligible companies is also expected to increase.
The support targets are public (school) meal support centers or integrated food support centers established and operated by local governments, food ingredient suppliers supplying ingredients to public meal facilities, and local food direct stores. The loan interest rate can be chosen between fixed and variable rates.
