All 'Sunset and Sunrise' Events in Jeonnam Region Canceled This Year
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim Young-rok) has canceled all year-end and New Year's sunrise events this year to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 21st, although year-end and New Year's sunrise events were held in 13 cities and counties within the province last year, this year they plan to actively block the spread of COVID-19 infection by controlling access to major attractions and deploying quarantine personnel.

In particular, Wando County decided to completely close Wando Tower, a representative sunrise spot, fearing crowds despite the cancellation of events.
Haenam County also canceled the Ttangkkeut year-end and New Year's sunrise events, which attracted more than 10,000 people annually, and took measures to prevent the occurrence of COVID-19 cases by conducting quarantine activities at major attractions.

Lee Gwang-dong, Director of Tourism at Jeonnam Province, said, “As the nationwide spread of COVID-19 has not subsided, we canceled the year-end and New Year's sunrise events as a measure to prevent local spread,” and added, “We ask all citizens planning to visit year-end and New Year's sunrise spots to refrain from traveling during the year-end and New Year holidays for everyone's safety.”
