On the 21st, LG CNS and Samjeong KPMG signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for collaboration on smart factory security business at Samjeong KPMG headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The two companies plan to jointly promote specialized smart factory security projects such as discovering new clients, nurturing professional personnel, and hosting conferences.
Recently, with the expansion of smart factories, the connection of manufacturing data, which was previously managed in a closed manner, to external networks has increased, raising concerns about cyberattacks. Therefore, strengthening operational technology (OT) security has become a key issue in the manufacturing industry. Rapid market growth is also expected. According to the global market research firm MarketsandMarkets, the domestic smart factory market is projected to grow from $8.9 billion (9.7855 trillion KRW) last year to $15.3 billion (16.8223 trillion KRW) by 2024. The industry expects the domestic security market size to expand alongside the growth of smart factories.
LG CNS has on-site experience in building, operating, and monitoring smart factory security solutions. Since 2018, it has applied security solutions to more than 40 smart factories of LG affiliates both domestically and internationally. LG CNS possesses a total of 16 smart factory security solutions that prevent external hacking and malware infiltration and protect internal core information from external leakage. LG CNS provides customized combinations of necessary solutions according to client circumstances. Samjeong KPMG has a dedicated consulting organization, the OT Security Team, which proposes security solutions tailored to client situations as well as establishing mid- to long-term security strategies.
The two companies plan to provide a one-stop service covering everything from smart factory security consulting to construction, operation, and monitoring.
