Samsung Asset Management's Market Focus on 'AI Variable Insurance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] Samsung Asset Management's 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Variable Insurance' is attracting market attention.
Samsung Asset Management announced on the 17th that the 'A+ My Solution AI Variable Annuity Insurance,' launched in collaboration with Aplus Asset and DGB Life, surpassed 2,000 contracts and 10 billion KRW in premium payments about two months after its release.
Variable insurance is a product where a portion of the premium is invested in stocks, bonds, etc., and the profits generated are received as insurance benefits. Subscribers can choose the funds to invest in and set their proportions themselves.
The 'A+ My Solution AI Variable Annuity Insurance' has the advantage that investors do not need to allocate assets themselves but can simply select an AI-based investor-customized solution. When constructing the portfolio, investments are made based on Samsung Asset Management's robo-solution algorithm, which passed the KOSCOM Robo Testbed review supervised by the Financial Services Commission. At this time, investments are mainly made in leading domestic and international Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). The portfolio utilizes domestic ETFs such as KODEX as well as overseas listed ETFs from BlackRock, Vanguard, and others.
The portfolio composed by the robo-solution is completed by adding sectors, income, and alternative assets. The final portfolio is classified and provided as active type, balanced type, or safe type according to the proportion of asset classes held by AI. Subscribers can choose the type that suits their investment style. The selected portfolio is rebalanced weekly.
Samsung Asset Management provided investment education to planners affiliated with Aplus Asset to enhance understanding of the product. Through online web seminars, monthly product reviews and economic market lectures were consistently offered, maintaining continuous communication with customers.
