KT Estate Selected as a '2020 Family-Friendly Certified Company'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] KT Estate announced on the 17th that it has been selected as a family-friendly certified company for 2020 in recognition of its family-friendly management. The family-friendly certification period will be maintained for three years until November 2023.
The family-friendly certification is a system administered by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, which grants certification through the family-friendly certification review agency (Korea Management Certification Institute) to companies and public institutions that exemplary operate family-friendly systems. It aims to promote the creation of a family-friendly social environment so that workers can harmoniously balance family life and work life in response to social environmental changes such as low birthrate, aging population, and increased participation of women in economic activities.
KT Estate stated that it supports a culture of work-family balance through measures such as ▲utilizing the PC-off system to encourage leaving work on time and ▲actively using flexible working systems that allow adjustment of working hours and types according to individual circumstances. It also explained that it has introduced ▲paternity leave and spouse childbirth leave usage not only for women but also for men ▲and an automatic parental leave system that allows immediate transition to parental leave after maternity leave ends. It added that welfare programs such as a filial piety travel program for employees' parents have also been actively implemented jointly by labor and management.
