President Moon's Approval Rating Slightly Rises... People Power 31.2% vs Democratic Party 29.9% [Realmeter]
Approval Rating for National Administration at 38.2%... Negative Evaluation at 59.1%
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] A public opinion poll showed a slight increase in President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his national administration. However, the positive evaluation of the administration remained in the 30% range for the third consecutive week, and the gap between positive and negative evaluations was 20.9 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error.
According to Realmeter, which conducted the survey commissioned by tbs from the 14th to the 16th, the positive evaluation of President Moon's administration rose by 1.5 percentage points from the previous week to 38.2%, announced on the 17th. The negative evaluation of the administration increased by 0.9 percentage points from last week to 59.1%.
By detailed categories, positive evaluations increased by 6.2% in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (PK) and by 6.1% in Seoul. It also rose among people in their 30s (4.9%), 50s (4.3%), 20s (4.1%), supporters of the Open Democratic Party (7.4%), and supporters of the Democratic Party (3.9%). On the other hand, negative evaluations increased in the Honam region (12.8%), Incheon and Gyeonggi (5.0%), people in their 60s and 70s or older (3.6%), the undecided group (12.8%), and supporters of the Justice Party (6.6%).
The approval ratings of the Democratic Party of Korea and the People Power Party showed a slight decline. The Democratic Party dropped by 0.9 percentage points from the previous week to 29.9%, and the People Power Party fell by 0.4 percentage points to 31.2%. The gap between the two parties' approval ratings was 1.3 percentage points, within the margin of error.
The Democratic Party's approval rating rose in PK, among people in their 20s and 30s, progressives, and students, but declined in Gwangju and Jeolla, among men, people in their 40s and 70s or older, and among labor and unemployed groups. The People Power Party's approval rating increased in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (TK), among people in their 60s, housewives, and office workers, but decreased in PK and Seoul, among people in their 50s, progressives and conservatives, and among unemployed, labor, and self-employed groups.

This survey contacted 31,428 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final response of 1,507 people, recording a response rate of 4.8%.
