The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 17th that it held the 17th Urban Planning Committee meeting and approved the revised maintenance plan for the urban maintenance-type redevelopment project in Sinchon Area 4-15, Mapo-gu.
The main point of this review is to change the primary use of buildings in 107-38 Nogosan-dong, Mapo-gu, from office to residential, constructing 299 urban small housing units and officetels (256 general sale units, 15 public rental units, and 28 private rental units). The plan aims to supply housing for workers and young people in the Mapo area and create a community-based Our Neighborhood Care Center, a living SOC facility, to provide a high-quality residential environment in the surrounding area.
Additionally, the city approved the revised maintenance plan for the urban maintenance-type redevelopment project in Sinchon Area 1-2 at this Urban Planning Committee meeting. Through this, 98 long-term general private rental housing units will be supplied in 49-29 Nogosan-dong, Mapo-gu.

This area was designated as an urban environment maintenance district in 2014, and reflecting the revised '2025 Seoul Metropolitan City Urban and Residential Environment Maintenance Basic Plan' from last October, the primary use was changed from office to residential to expand housing supply and stabilize housing for young people. To complement the drawbacks of urban-type housing and reflect new residential trends, various shared spaces such as shared kitchens and shared offices will be provided. Also, the Youth Startup Support Center planned on the first and second floors is expected to generate various synergies through exchanges with nearby universities, and the Seoul city government stated that it anticipates revitalizing the local urban economy by providing startup spaces for young people.
