Seoul Jung-gu, Temporary Screening Clinic Established at Yaksu-dong Community Center Following Seoul Station
Free Proactive COVID-19 Testing Starts from the 15th at Yaksu-dong Community Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seo Yang-ho) started operating a temporary screening clinic in front of Seoul Station Square (next to the Blood Donation House) from the 14th, and from the 15th, another temporary screening clinic was set up and began operation in front of Yaksu-dong Community Service Center.
The operation period is temporary, running until January 3, 2021, the same as the one in front of Seoul Station.
The operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays (including weekends), but there is flexibility to extend hours depending on the situation.
The tests are conducted anonymously by providing only a mobile phone number, focusing on RT-PCR tests using nasal swabs, but if the test subject wishes, saliva tests or rapid antigen tests are also available.
Free testing is available even without symptoms or epidemiological links.
From the 15th, the district has assigned 5 medical personnel responsible for specimen collection and disinfection at each temporary screening clinic, along with 8 administrative staff handling epidemiological investigations, fever checks, and guidance to prepare for the increasing number of tests.
On the 15th alone, a total of 184 tests were conducted at the Yaksu-dong Community Service Center temporary screening clinic, while 732 tests on the 14th and 873 tests on the 15th were conducted at the Seoul Station temporary screening clinic.
Seo Yang-ho, Mayor of Jung-gu, who toured the temporary screening clinics at Seoul Station and Yaksu-dong Community Service Center, said, "I hope everyone strictly follows basic quarantine rules such as social distancing and wearing masks to overcome this crisis quickly, and if you have suspicious symptoms, please get tested without delay at the nearest screening clinic."
