Chosun University Receives Praise for 'Early-Check-In-Campus' Program to Correct Low Academic Achievement Study Habits
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Chosun University Education Innovation Institute's Center for Teaching and Learning Support announced on the 16th that it is operating the 'Early-Check-in-Campus' extracurricular program to improve study habits for students with low academic achievement (GPA below 3.0 in the previous semester) due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
This program is a 1:1 intensive management program where students wake up early and verify their class attendance on SNS during the 9 weeks of the semester, helping them form desirable study habits and cultivate self-management skills.
Especially during a period when online learning is prevalent, to prevent students' daily routines from collapsing, students choose their own days to upload photos verifying online attendance and their daily plans to be followed before 10 a.m. twice a week on their SNS and share them with friends.
Each uploaded post receives 1:1 feedback from mentors, and participants also receive warm encouragement and support through comments from friends who join together.
This program was selected as an 'Excellent Case of Online Learning Support Program' by the Korea Council for University Education and was introduced nationwide at the summer workshop on July 24.
A student who participated in the program said, "Despite it being a time when regular personal schedules were greatly disrupted compared to face-to-face lectures due to the non-face-to-face lecture system, I was able to wake up before the set time and attend lectures through this program," adding, "I was able to achieve 100% online attendance, and my grades came out satisfactorily."
