[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province held a policy advisory committee meeting to discuss countermeasures for the regional balanced New Deal and pledged a new horizon for the development of Jeonnam.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 16th, the province established a full-scale response plan for the government's key policy, the 'Regional Balanced New Deal,' and held the '2020 Second Half Policy Advisory Committee' plenary meeting to listen to and consult experts from various fields before full-scale implementation.
About 40 people attended the meeting, including Governor Kim Young-rok of Jeonnam Province, policy advisory committee members, and related provincial officials.
The event proceeded with the presentation of appointment letters to new members and a special lecture by an external expert, minimizing the number of in-person attendees and programs to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
At this meeting, appointment letters were presented to 33 newly appointed members for the second half of this year, Chairman Park Ki-young, and Vice Chairman Pyo Byung-sik for the second half of the 7th local government term.
Governor Kim said, "Please actively engage in developing persuasive logic and proposing alternatives for provincial administration issues."
Following this, a special lecture was given by Cho Young-tae, Director of Policy Development at the National Balanced Development Committee, to enhance understanding and empathy for the 'Regional Balanced New Deal.'
Director Cho requested active local interest, strong promotion, and the discovery of super-regional cooperative projects.
In particular, Governor Kim said, "While the efforts of public officials are important to successfully resolve major issues pursued by Jeonnam, the cooperation of policy advisory committee members with broad perspectives and expertise is urgently needed. Please help fill the gaps of Jeonnam provincial officials so that policies made in Jeonnam can influence the government and lead other regions."
