Gwangyang City Supports Reopening of Small Business Stores Visited by COVID-19 Confirmed Cases
Applications open until the 23rd for 84 businesses visited by confirmed cases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it is accepting applications until the 23rd for the ‘COVID-19 Confirmed Case Visit Small Business Store Reopening Support Project’ targeting 84 stores visited by confirmed COVID-19 cases (including stores operated by confirmed cases).
This support project provides financial assistance necessary for reopening to small business owners who have experienced difficulties such as temporary closure or decreased sales due to visits by confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The eligible recipients are 84 stores confirmed by the health center to have been visited by COVID-19 confirmed cases, and the city plans to contact them individually to provide guidance.
Eligible stores must submit △ Value-Added Tax Standard Certificate △ Health Insurance Qualification Certificate △ Business Registration Certificate, bankbook copy △ Sales data for 1 to 2 months before and after the COVID-19 confirmed case visit by the 23rd.
Sales data (to verify sales decrease) can be credit card sales through card companies, sales details confirmed by POS, etc. Detailed information required for document submission can be found in the announcement section on the city hall website.
The city will verify whether the stores are small businesses, exclude those not eligible for small business policy fund support, and check sales decrease, then finalize the payment recipients after the 24th and notify them of support eligibility and amount.
The city will support confirmed small business stores with up to 3 million KRW per store for food, supplies and consumables, promotion and marketing expenses necessary for reopening.
However, wages for regular employees and rental fees for business premises are excluded.
Jung Hyun-bok, Mayor of Gwangyang City, said, “We hope this support project will greatly help small business stores affected by visits from confirmed cases to normalize their management,” and added, “We will do our best to wisely overcome the COVID-19 crisis together with small business owners.”
