ToBeSoft Obtains Patent for National Project 'Connected Car Commerce'... "Expanding Contactless Car Commerce Business"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] ToBeSoft, a company specializing in enterprise UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience), has obtained a patent related to the development of a connected car commerce platform, which was conducted as a national project under the 'World Class 300 (WC300)'.
On the 16th, ToBeSoft announced that it had acquired a patent for a "car commerce service device and its operation method that enables product ordering and payment through a kiosk in a vehicle." The company plans to utilize this for product advancement and future new product development.
The patent supports technology that allows vehicle drivers to order and pay for products through a kiosk device without the need for separate store staff.
When a vehicle approaches a kiosk device installed inside a store, the car commerce service linkage automatically recognizes the vehicle. When the driver orders a specific product through the kiosk device, the vehicle automatically receives payment information, authenticates the payment information, and completes the payment process.
A ToBeSoft official stated, "Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of drive-thru (DT) services has increased, and 'car commerce,' where payments are made contactlessly, will establish itself as a new payment method." He added, "Car commerce services can be conveniently used in various places such as parking facilities and gas stations." He emphasized, "With this patent acquisition, having certified our global competitiveness, we plan to further expand our business in the car commerce market."
