Boseong-gun Receives First-ever 'Childcare Project Institution Commendation' in Childcare Sector
2020 Childcare Service Meritorious Government Award Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for Institutions
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that it received the Minister of Health and Welfare Institutional Award in the ‘2020 Childcare Project Meritorious Government Awards,’ the first recognition in the childcare sector.
In this evaluation, Boseong-gun was recognized for improving childcare quality through policies such as △building public childcare infrastructure (47%) by expanding national and public daycare centers, △producing and distributing custom-made cloth masks for all residents and children, △implementing special measures to prevent and contain COVID-19, △providing ‘Happiness Packages’ visiting support for infants and toddlers under home care due to emergency childcare, △supporting eco-friendly agricultural food ingredients, and △expanding the operation of open daycare centers (50%).
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, “We have been striving to make Boseong a good place to raise children, and it is meaningful to receive an institutional award in the childcare sector for the first time.” He added, “We will continue to create a childcare environment that parents can trust and rely on, build trust in public childcare, and improve the treatment of childcare teachers who work hard in the care field to provide the best childcare services.”

For institutional awards, selection is based on evaluating excellent cases in response to COVID-19, development of local government special policies, and contributions to the establishment and execution of childcare policies through the expansion of national and public daycare centers.
