The Muan County Prosperity Association (President Park Moon-jae) issued a statement at Muan County Office on the 15th, urging the fulfillment of the promise to "integrate Gwangju Airport's domestic flights into Muan International Airport by 2021."
They expressed strong regret, stating that the relocation of the civil airport, separate from the military airport issue, is a matter to be implemented by next year according to the government's basic aviation policy plan and the "Muan International Airport Revitalization Agreement" signed in 2018. However, Gwangju Metropolitan City has evaded responsibility by proposing a four-party consultative body and has effectively broken its unconditional promise to relocate the civil airport.
