Jeonnam Province 'Civil Complaint Messenger' Plays Key Role in Resolving Residents' Grievances and Inconveniences This Year
446 Reports and 976 Local Promotions... 11% Increase Compared to Last Year
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] It has been confirmed that the Jeonnam Province Civil Complaint Messenger played a significant role in resolving residents' grievances and inconveniences.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 15th, despite the restrictions due to COVID-19 this year, the Civil Complaint Messenger actively carried out activities with a total of 446 reports of residents' grievances and inconveniences and 976 hometown promotion cases online and other channels, an 11% increase compared to last year.
The 10th Civil Complaint Messenger, which began activities in February last year, is an unpaid honorary volunteer appointed by the Governor of Jeonnam Province.
Currently, 262 members are active with the purpose of listening to the vivid voices from the field of residents, reporting grievances and inconveniences, and participating in major provincial policies on site.
They actively engaged in various activities for Jeonnam Province, including online and offline signature campaigns to attract the Synchrotron Light Source, promotional campaigns for COP28 attraction centered on the eastern region, and volunteer activities for flood damage recovery in Gurye-gun.
Furthermore, complaints reported by the Civil Complaint Messenger, such as road and various facility damages and environmental issues, are immediately addressed within seven days through the relevant city and county offices, achieving positive results by preventing potential damages residents might experience in advance.
On this day, the province held the ‘2020 Jeonnam Province Civil Complaint Messenger Performance Report Meeting’ to reaffirm its commitment to resolving residents' grievances.
The event was attended by Governor Kim Young-rok of Jeonnam Province, Park Moon-ok, Chair of the Planning and Administration Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, and about 40 Civil Complaint Messengers.
Starting with a performance presentation on major activities over the past year by Go Jae-wan, the representative of the Civil Complaint Messenger, the event became an opportunity to reaffirm future commitments, followed by awards for outstanding messengers who conveyed the vivid voices from the field of residents.
Governor Kim said, “With the Civil Complaint Messenger who finds and reports parts that the administration has overlooked, we can move toward a ‘Happy Era in Jeonnam where My Life Changes.’ I will sincerely listen to and resolve the voices of the Civil Complaint Messenger as the voices of the residents and reflect them in policies.”
