Jeonnam Province announced on the 14th that it won a total of four awards, including being selected as an excellent institution in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘Informatization Village Revitalization Operation Evaluation.’
On the same day, the province held the 2020 Informatization Village Revitalization Merit Award Ceremony at the Jeonnam Provincial Government Deputy Governor’s Office. The ceremony was attended by Song Sangrak, Deputy Governor of Jeonnam Province, Kang Chansu, Chairman of Suncheon Nakan Baeigok Village, Choi Seongbong, Chairman of Naju Pyeongya Village, and other officials.
In this evaluation, the province was the only local government nationwide to receive an institutional commendation, and Moon Seonjong, Chairman of Wando Bogildo Informatization Village, received an individual commendation.
Additionally, in the performance evaluation conducted on 294 informatization villages nationwide, Suncheon Nakan Baeigok Village (Chairman Kang Chansu) was awarded the Excellence Award, and Naju Pyeongya Village (Chairman Choi Seongbong) was selected for the Encouragement Award.
The province has greatly contributed to farmers’ sales revenue by listing specialty products on Namdo Marketplace, an online shopping mall for agricultural, fishery, and livestock products operated to expand the online sales network of informatization villages.
It was also highly praised for its efforts to revitalize villages by conducting smart creator capacity-building training for village managers and involving informatization villages in product design and brand marketing projects.
Meanwhile, Suncheon Nakan Baeigok Village sells pears and plums as its main products and is recognized as a representative model village operating a community where residents share joint profits based on production volume through joint sorting and joint shipping processes.
Naju Pyeongya Village’s main products are rice, strawberries, and yellow soil packs. The strawberry harvesting experience program for kindergarten and elementary school students is very popular, and the village is also close to the Naju Dolmen Historic Site and Naju National Museum, offering many attractions.
