KOICA, 2020 Development Cooperation Project Summary... 'Sotongae (愛) Week' from 14th to 18th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) will operate the ‘Communication Love (愛) Week’ from the 14th to the 18th to share with the public the changes and success cases of international development cooperation projects amid the COVID-19 situation, as well as KOICA’s future project plans.
This event is an annual occasion where KOICA shares the achievements of development cooperation projects and discusses cooperation directions with partners from various fields such as public institutions, companies, civil society, and academia.
This year, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the week-long event has been reorganized into an online non-face-to-face format and will be broadcast live through KOICA’s YouTube channel, allowing any citizens interested in KOICA to participate.
On the 14th, there will be presentations on KOICA’s social value creation cases, international development cooperation talent recruitment plans, and the new operation plan for the interactive online communication platform with the public, ‘National Proposal Room - Saenggagi Oda (ODA).’
From the 15th to the 17th, communication programs with partners of KOICA’s major projects such as country-specific cooperation projects, global talent projects, and public-private partnership projects will be held sequentially.
At the country-specific cooperation project communication event, KOICA will share the achievements of the ‘ABC Program,’ which is being promoted to strengthen the COVID-19 resilience of developing countries, and present appreciation plaques to project partners.
At the global talent project communication event, there will be an introduction of the excellent achievements of World Friends Korea (WFK) volunteers who have continued their activities through remote volunteer programs despite the COVID-19 pandemic this year, as well as plans for future remote volunteer programs.
At the public-private partnership project communication event, a ‘Visible Radio’ format will provide a sincere time to share experiences and stories of overcoming difficulties in development cooperation projects caused by COVID-19 with partner organization representatives.
Additionally, programs such as the ‘KOICA Official Development Assistance Procurement Project Participation Method Briefing’ and the ‘KOICA Work Style Innovation Idea Contest,’ which introduces employees’ work innovation ideas and selects excellent ideas through real-time on-site voting, are also prepared.
On the 18th, KOICA’s public supporters ‘WEKO 2nd Generation’ will introduce the results of their online (SNS) promotional activities to raise public awareness of KOICA and development cooperation projects since July and conclude the week-long public communication event with a group performance commemorating their activities.
