'Born on This Land'... Asan Foundation Holds 20th Anniversary Book Report Contest for Chung Ju-yung
Competition Registration from January 5 to February 25
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Asan Social Welfare Foundation is hosting a book report contest on the autobiography "Born on This Land," which embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Asan Foundation founder and Honorary Chairman of Hyundai Group, Chung Ju-yung, who was born as the son of a poor farmer and built the global group "Hyundai."
The book report contest, held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Honorary Chairman Chung Ju-yung on March 21 next year, aims to give hope and courage to young people living in the current era as they face difficulties in career paths, employment, and entrepreneurship. The contest is divided into middle and high school student divisions, and university/graduate student and general divisions.
One grand prize winner will receive 10 million KRW, two gold prize winners (one per division), six silver prize winners (three per division), ten bronze prize winners (five per division), and thirty encouragement prize winners will receive between 1 million and 7 million KRW each. In total, 49 winners will be awarded a total prize money of 101 million KRW.
Applicants who wish to participate should read "Born on This Land" and submit a book report. Middle and high school students should write about 15 pages of 200-character manuscript paper (approximately 3 A4 pages), while university/graduate students and general division participants should write about 20 pages of 200-character manuscript paper (approximately 4 A4 pages). Submissions can be made through the Asan Social Welfare Foundation website, by mail, or by email.
The submission period is from January 5 to February 25. The judging panel, composed of novelists, literary critics, poets, and university professors (chaired by writer Kim Soo-hyun), will conduct preliminary and final evaluations, with the results announced in March.
