Guri-si Sewage Fees to Increase by 17% Starting January Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Sewerage fees in Guri-si, Gyeonggi Province will increase by 17% starting January next year.
Guri-si announced on the 14th that "to expand sewerage infrastructure and improve aging sewerage facilities, sewerage usage fees will be increased by 17% depending on the industry from the January 2021 billing."
This reflects the revision of the "Guri-si Sewerage Usage Ordinance" made in March, which aims to increase fees by 17% from the January 2021 billing to realize the actual cost of sewerage fees as of December last year. According to Guri-si's 2019 settlement, the realization rate of sewerage fees was only 43.38%.

With this increase, from the January 2021 billing, households discharging 30 tons of sewage per month will pay an additional 3,040 KRW, rising from 17,910 KRW to 20,950 KRW per month, and general users will pay an additional 3,270 KRW, rising from 19,350 KRW to 22,620 KRW per month.
