Four Men in Their 50s Suffer Gas Poisoning While Car Camping in Modified Bus
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Goheung Fire Station in Jeonnam announced on the 14th that four men in their 50s who were staying overnight (car camping) in a modified bus suffered a tragic accident due to gas poisoning, resulting in deaths and injuries.
They were a group camping overnight together on a road in Geumsan-myeon, Goheung-gun, around 8:43 PM the previous day. The Goheung Fire Station received a report that they were unconscious, and although the 119 emergency medical team was dispatched, one man in his 50s died and another was transported to the hospital unconscious.
The other two also showed symptoms such as chills and high fever and received hospital treatment.
These friends were traveling to Goheung in a 45-seat bus converted for camping and were staying overnight in the vehicle when the accident occurred.
After drinking together and falling asleep, a police officer who found it strange that the bus was stopped on the road knocked on the window, waking one member of the group, Mr. A.
After checking on the group, Mr. A reported the incident upon seeing that his friends were unconscious.
It was determined that before falling asleep, they had turned off the bus engine and turned on a diesel-powered parking heater.
