Gwangju Gwangsan-gu, Top Information Technology Capability Among 5 Autonomous Districts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, ranked first overall in the ‘2020 Autonomous District Informatization Capacity Enhancement Evaluation’ and was selected as the best institution.
According to Gwangsan-gu on the 11th, this evaluation conducted by Gwangju City targeting the five autonomous districts of Gwangju measured the overall performance of informatization tasks promoted by each district from last year to this year by linking them with central government evaluation indicators.
The evaluation was conducted in areas such as ▲activation of big data utilization ▲level of e-government performance management ▲prior consultation on informatization projects ▲diagnosis of personal information protection management level ▲diagnosis of information security management level.
Gwangsan-gu was recognized for its efforts to provide efficient administrative information services through scientific administration that safely manages personal information, improves the level of informatization project performance management, and utilizes big data analysis technology in policy decision-making.
In addition, it was highly evaluated for promoting information security enhancement policies such as preventing various security threats in advance and establishing a safe information protection system.
Kim Sam-ho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, “Various efforts to implement smart administration have yielded good results,” and added, “We will lead the post-COVID daily life era by introducing information technology throughout the district administration.”

Meanwhile, last month, Gwangsan-gu received an excellence award by presenting a research project titled ‘Management Measures for Disabled Parking Violations through ICT Technology Convergence’ at the ‘2020 City-District Informatization Policy Workshop’ hosted by Gwangju City.
