'Prime Minister's Emergency Directive on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza at Poultry Farms' Announcement
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun on the 11th issued an urgent directive to "actively utilize the 'Dedicated Poultry Farm Officer System' to minimize human access within farms, thoroughly inspect biosecurity measures, and strictly take action against any confirmed legal violations."
Prime Minister Chung instructed, "The Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs must thoroughly check that the biosecurity measures implemented so far are properly enforced on-site," and added, "Ensure prompt corrective and administrative actions are taken against any violations."
He emphasized, "Analyze the cases of affected farms in detail, swiftly address biosecurity vulnerabilities and necessary improvements, and make every effort to prevent further outbreaks."
Prime Minister Chung also stated, "Relevant ministries such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of National Defense should promptly provide necessary resources such as personnel and equipment to ensure no disruption in on-site biosecurity."
He continued, "Local government heads should actively utilize the recently implemented 'Dedicated Poultry Farm Officer System' to closely monitor the biosecurity status of farms on-site."
