Choo Mi-ae: "If the Corruption Investigation Office Launches, the Prosecutor's Organizational Culture Will Change"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 10th, Choo Mi-ae, Minister of Justice, stated through social networking service (SNS) that "once the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (Gongsoocheo) is launched, the internal organizational culture of the prosecution will completely change."
On the same day, Minister Choo said on SNS, "The rigid command system of control and obedience rooted in the outdated justification of the principle of prosecutor identity will lose its power."
Minister Choo mentioned, "The organizational culture where only a few within the organization enjoy protection and privileges at the cost of the leadership submitting to undemocratic power, dominating the majority of prosecutors who work silently, will disappear," adding, "Instead, a culture of raising objections within the organization will emerge."
She also conveyed that forced fabricated investigations or targeted investigations and other coercive investigative practices can be eradicated.
