On that day, Chief Jung Young-jin boarded the West Sea Regional Headquarters helicopter (B-520) and inspected the fishing activities of vessels and maritime security operations in the jurisdictional inland and coastal waters.
In particular, he closely observed the distribution and trends of Chinese fishing vessels operating inside and outside the Mokpo jurisdiction, focusing intensively on foreign fishing vessels.
Additionally, he toured the jurisdictional waters, checked the fishing distribution situation through communication with deployed patrol vessels on duty, and encouraged the crew members of the security vessels.
Following this, Chief Jung visited the Gageo Branch Office and presented a commendation on behalf of Kim Do-jun, Chief of the West Sea Regional Headquarters, to fishing boat captain A, who reported an unidentified vessel near Gageo Island on the 4th, aiding in its swift apprehension.
At this occasion, Chief Jung Young-jin stated, “The swift report led to the apprehension,” and urged, “Please continue to maintain a cooperative system among fishing vessels.”

Meanwhile, on the 4th, Mokpo Maritime Police, together with a helicopter from Jeju Aviation University, conducted a three-dimensional operation and seized one Chinese fishing vessel suspected of illegal fishing within the Shinan Gageo Island maritime fishery agreement line, confiscating 6,500 kg of illegal catch and imposing a bond of 300 million KRW.
