Damyang-gun Ranks 2nd in Public Institution Integrity Evaluation... 'Top Tier for 2 Consecutive Years'
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Jeonnam Damyang-gun (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 9th that it received a comprehensive integrity grade of 2 in the 2020 public institution integrity evaluation, maintaining a top-tier ranking for two consecutive years.
The public institution integrity evaluation is a system that diagnoses the level of integrity by combining the results of surveys conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on 723 public institutions nationwide, targeting citizens and public officials who have directly experienced the work of public institutions, along with the corruption occurrence status of the respective institutions. It has been publicly disclosed annually since 2002.
This year, the county’s comprehensive integrity grade was 2, with the external integrity grade maintaining 2 as in the previous year, and the internal integrity grade rising by one grade to 2, ranking among the top in the 22 cities and counties of Jeonnam Province.
To establish a clean public service culture, the county focused on adhering to public ethics such as the Code of Conduct for Public Officials and the Anti-Graft Act, promoted employee education, and created an environment where integrity could be self-checked through autonomous internal controls such as monitoring via the Cheongbaek e-system and integrity activities.
A county official said, “We will continue to implement various policies such as pre-audits to prevent corruption and customized education to cultivate an integrity mindset to achieve a grade 1 integrity rating. Based on integrity, we will do our best to create a clean and trusted public service culture by practicing proactive administration through fair and transparent work performance.”
