Inha University Regular Admission 971 Students... New Department of Advanced Convergence, 62 Students Selected
Increase of 236 Students, Largest Growth Among Seoul Metropolitan Universities
Application Period January 7-11
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyesook Park] Inha University will select 971 students in the regular admission this year, an increase of 236 from last year.
The regular admission ratio is 24.4%, up 5 percentage points from last year, and it is expected to increase further with additional early admission rollovers. In particular, by establishing four new departments in the School of Advanced Convergence this year, it has expanded the scale of regular admissions the most among major universities in the metropolitan area.
The School of Advanced Convergence will recruit 62 students through regular admission out of a total of 180. The number of students to be selected by department is 15 for the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering, 15 for the Department of Data Science, 12 for the Department of Smart Mobility Engineering, and 20 for the Department of Design Technology. The number of students selected may increase depending on the scale of early admission rollovers.
The School of Advanced Convergence will also expand scholarships for regular admissions. For three departments?Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Smart Mobility?all first-time successful applicants will receive a 4-year scholarship (Biryong Scholarship), and for the Department of Design Technology, 7 of the first-time successful applicants will receive the scholarship.
The selection method for the general CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test) track is 100% based on CSAT scores for groups A, B, and C, while the practical/performance track varies depending on the department, so confirmation is necessary.
The CSAT score reflection method for the general track in humanities is 30% Korean, 25% Mathematics (Type A or B), 20% English, 20% Social/Science Inquiry, and 5% Korean History.
Among humanities departments, four departments?Spatial Information Engineering, Nursing, Asia-Pacific Logistics, and Global Finance?have a higher Mathematics (Type A or B) reflection rate of 30%, and the inquiry reflection rate is 15%.
For natural sciences, all departments reflect 20% Korean, 30% Mathematics (Type A), 20% English, 25% Science Inquiry, and 5% Korean History. It should be noted that Mathematics is Type A and only Science Inquiry is reflected. This year, the difference in reflected scores by English grade has been narrowed.
Among the newly established School of Advanced Convergence departments, three majors (Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Data Science, Smart Mobility Engineering) follow the natural sciences CSAT reflection method, and the Department of Design Technology selects freshmen with 70% CSAT and 30% practical skills.
The application period for regular admission is from January 7 to 11 next year. Practical exams will be conducted by department from January 19 to February 4, and the announcement of successful candidates will be on January 22 for the general track and February 7 for the practical track.
