LMS Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Sangbo for LCD Display Composite Sheets
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] LMS announced on the 8th that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Sangbo.
On the 23rd of last month, LMS filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Sangbo at the Seoul Central District Court. In the complaint, LMS stated that the composite sheets sold by Sangbo infringed on its related technology patents.
Founded in 1999, LMS was the first in Korea to develop composite sheets for LCD displays. It achieved the localization of optical sheets, which had been monopolized by overseas companies. With about 250 patents, it has attained the world's number one market share in optical films for small LCDs.
Prism composite sheets are optical films applied to the backlight of LCD displays, improving front luminance and reducing power consumption. LMS's composite sheets are high-value-added products that meet the high brightness and slimness demands of the mobile phone market.
