Gwangjin-gu Installs Heated and Cooling Seats at Street-side Bus Stops
Installation of Cooling and Heating Seats at 22 Bus Stops with High Passenger Traffic Along Streets... Automatically Operated When Temperature Drops Below 26℃ from November to March
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has installed cooling and heating chairs at roadside bus stops to improve convenience for residents using buses during the cold winter and hot summer seasons.
The cooling and heating chairs were provided to help residents stay comfortably while avoiding the cold and heat during bus waiting times, thereby promoting the use of public transportation.
The district selected a total of 22 roadside bus stops with high bus usage and easy electricity supply within the area and completed the installation of cooling and heating chairs.
The cooling and heating chairs automatically operate when the temperature is 26°C or below from November to March in winter, and when the temperature is 26°C or above from June to September in summer, running from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., the hours when many residents use the service.
Meanwhile, last year, the district also received great responses from residents by being the first autonomous district in Seoul to pilot install eight cooling and heating chairs at Gangbyeon Station D bus stop.
