Kim Kyung-kyu, CEO of Hi Investment & Securities, Reappointed
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Kim Kyung-kyu, CEO of Hi Investment & Securities, has effectively succeeded in his reappointment. This reflects his leadership since the first appointment after Hi Investment & Securities became a subsidiary of DGB Financial Group, leading the company to record-breaking performance.
On the 7th, Hi Investment & Securities announced that its Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee had selected Kim Kyung-kyu as the candidate for CEO.
Kim Kyung-kyu will be reappointed as an inside director at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to be held on the 30th of this month, and if he is finally appointed as CEO by the board of directors thereafter, he will successfully secure his reappointment. His term will last until December 30 of next year.
Kim has continuously driven growth in Hi Investment & Securities' strongest areas, real estate finance and bond business. Moreover, by establishing and reorganizing the ECM business organization, he secured a comprehensive IB foundation, expanding the headquarters' revenue diversification and growth base.
To enhance synergy with DGB Financial Group, he succeeded in opening complex branches in strategic regions, revitalizing referral sales, strengthening capabilities in non-face-to-face digital business, and achieving explosive sales of small bonds, trust, and wrap products, thereby improving the relatively weak retail profitability. Especially, after completing a 200 billion KRW capital increase earlier this year, he has supported growth in core businesses and expanded business areas. As a result, the cumulative operating profit on a consolidated basis for the third quarter surpassed 100 billion KRW for the first time, laying a solid foundation for full-scale growth toward becoming a major investment bank, which has been highly praised.
