Guri City to Become First Local Government Nationwide to Provide 'Enlistment Support Fund' Starting Next Year
Active Duty Soldiers and Social Service Personnel Enlisted (Called Up) to Receive 100,000 Won Each in Local Currency
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Guri City in Gyeonggi Province will be the first local government in the country to provide enlistment support funds in Guri local currency to young people enlisting as active-duty soldiers and social service agents starting next year.
The recipients are active-duty soldiers and social service agents who have been registered residents of Guri City for more than one year as of the application date and are scheduled to enlist (be called up). They can apply at the administrative welfare center in their jurisdiction before enlistment after receiving the enlistment (call-up) notice.
The support fund of 100,000 KRW per person will be paid once within 8 days from the application date in Guri local currency (Guri Sarang Card).
