View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Steven Biegun, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State and Special Representative for North Korea, is scheduled to visit South Korea from the 8th to the 11th at the invitation of Choi Jong-geon, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, to hold high-level U.S.-South Korea consultations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 7th.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Kang Kyung-wha will host a dinner on the 11th to encourage Deputy Secretary Biegun and the U.S. delegation, evaluating the efforts made by Deputy Secretary Biegun and the U.S. side in advancing the U.S.-South Korea relationship and the Korean Peninsula peace process, while also requesting continued interest and support from the U.S. side going forward.
Earlier, on the 9th, Deputy Secretary Biegun is scheduled to hold a U.S.-South Korea Deputy Foreign Ministers' meeting with First Vice Minister Choi to discuss overall U.S.-South Korea relations and mutual concerns including regional and global issues.

Following the Deputy Ministers' meeting, Deputy Secretary Biegun will hold consultations with Lee Do-hoon, Director General for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, and the U.S. Chief Negotiator on North Korea, to discuss cooperation measures between the two countries for substantial progress toward the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of lasting peace.
