Gyeongnam Residents' Mobility Drops Sharply Due to Social Distancing... Clustered Spread Continues

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] With the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) leading to the elevation of social distancing levels in both the Seoul metropolitan area and non-metropolitan areas, nationwide mobility has decreased by 8.4%.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters of the Ministry of Health and Welfare analyzed changes in mobility based on mobile phone movement data provided by Statistics Korea.
On the first day of the strengthened quarantine measures in the Seoul metropolitan area, the 1st, mobility was 16,019,000 cases in the metropolitan area.
Compared to November 7, when level 1.5 was announced, this represents a 13.2% decrease.
Mobility in non-metropolitan areas was 12,890,000 cases, a reduction of 3,619,000 cases compared to level 1.
Compared to the 24th of last month, nationwide mobility decreased by 8.4%.
Mobility counts are based on cases where a user of a mobile carrier visits an administrative dong in a different city, county, or district than their actual residence and stays for more than 30 minutes.
Despite the elevation of social distancing to level 2 in places including Changwon, Gyeongnam, COVID-19 confirmed cases continue to occur in clusters.
