Strawberry Sandwiches Establish Themselves as Winter Bestsellers at Convenience Stores
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Convenience store 7-Eleven announced on the 3rd that it has launched the 'Real Strawberry Sand,' made with domestically grown Seolhyang strawberries.
The 'Real Strawberry Sand' contains five Seolhyang strawberries in bread, capturing the natural taste of strawberries. The price is 2,500 won.
Strawberry sandwiches have become a winter bestseller item at convenience stores. Convenience store strawberry sandwiches are generally released around December and sold until March of the following year, showing high sales every year and securing their position as a popular seasonal product. 7-Eleven's strawberry sandwiches have recorded high growth rates annually. According to 7-Eleven, during the winter season of 2018 (December to February), sales increased by 40.7%, and last year sales rose significantly by 35.4%, making it the top-selling sandwich.

They also introduced a unique sandwich using strawberry jam. The 'Dwaejiba Sandwich,' launching on the 9th, is a collaboration product with the popular ice cream 'Dwaejiba.' The price is 2,200 won.
