On the 2nd, KBS reported that in an apartment in Doan New Town, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, the filter attached to the showerhead appeared brown as if soaked in muddy water.
According to the report, even the tap water filter newly installed on the showerhead two days ago turned brown.
This phenomenon has been concentrated in the new urban areas of Seo-gu and Yuseong-gu in Daejeon over the past week.
The Daejeon Waterworks Headquarters has received about 10 damage reports from 9 apartment complexes.
Dozens of posts complaining about the damage have also been posted on internet cafes.
However, the cause has not yet been identified. Although the Waterworks Headquarters conducted water quality tests, no substances that could cause discoloration, such as iron or manganese, were detected.
However, there is a possibility that increased hot water use during winter has accelerated water flow, causing rust or foreign substances to detach from the pipes.
