Statistics Korea Holds 30th Population Census Meeting... Sharing Cases Between Countries
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Statistics Korea will hold the 30th Population Census Meeting online from the 2nd to the 4th. Due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), this meeting will be conducted via video conference.
The Population Census Meeting is a forum for sharing population census cases and demographic information among Asia-Pacific countries. It was first held in 1971 at the East-West Center (EWC) in Hawaii, and since then, it has been hosted on a rotating basis by member countries every two years.

This year's Population Census Meeting theme is "Innovation in Data Collection, Processing, and Publication of the 2020 Census Round," and it will be held over three days with seven sessions, featuring a total of 19 presentations and Q&A sessions. Additionally, the current status and cases of the 2020 Census from each country will be shared to discuss future directions.
