"Insurance Premium Costs as Little as a Cup of Coffee" MetLife Life Insurance Launches Mini Accident Insurance
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] MetLife Life Insurance announced on the 2nd that it will launch the ‘(Non) MetLife Mini Accident Insurance,’ which provides coverage for various accident-related injuries including traffic accidents at an affordable premium equivalent to the price of a cup of coffee.
This product is a single-premium plan, where a one-time payment of 4,800 KRW for men and 2,800 KRW for women aged 30 guarantees coverage for death and fractures caused by accidents for one year. When converted to monthly premiums, it amounts to 400 KRW and 233 KRW respectively, making it very affordable. Based on a coverage amount of 10 million KRW, if death occurs directly due to an accident, an accidental death insurance benefit of 10 million KRW is paid. Additionally, as a specialized accidental fracture insurance, a diagnosis of fracture caused by an accident entitles the insured to a 100,000 KRW accidental fracture diagnosis benefit per occurrence.
Notably, subscribing to this insurance provides access to the healthcare basic service through the mobile health management application 360 Health as a benefit. This service allows users to easily check their health status, including vascular health and metabolic diseases. Furthermore, it enables diet and exercise management through artificial intelligence (AI) analysis.
By taking a photo of food before eating, the AI instantly analyzes calories and nutritional content based on the image information and evaluates whether the diet is appropriate considering the individual’s health condition. Additionally, the AI analyzes the user’s exercise frequency, duration, intensity, and type to recommend optimal aerobic and strength training exercises and provides effective workout methods from professional trainers.
