[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City Health Center will receive the Governor's Commendation at this year's 'Community Integrated Health Promotion Project' performance competition hosted by Jeonnam Province and organized by the Integrated Health Promotion Project Support Group on the 4th.
This event was prepared to comprehensively evaluate the plans, operations, and achievements of last year's integrated health promotion projects for 22 cities and counties, to award and encourage excellent institutions and public officials, as well as to share best practices and explore future promotion strategies.
This year, all schedules will be conducted online using ZOOM due to COVID-19, and awards will be delivered individually without a separate face-to-face ceremony.
Gwangyang City was highly evaluated for setting priorities and directions of the project based on community status analysis and preliminary surveys reflecting residents' demands, and for promoting resident-participatory projects through detailed strategies by sector to strengthen community capacity and improve health levels.
In particular, the city designated walking practice rate, monthly drinking rate, and current smoking rate?indicators that showed poor results in community health statistics?as key performance indicators, expanded budget and personnel, and actively promoted the project by publicizing healthy behaviors and creating an atmosphere for practicing healthy lifestyles, resulting in improvements in all poor indicators.
