KSD Nanum Foundation of Korea Securities Depository Awards Scholarships to Children of Workers at Facilities Supporting Female Violence Victims
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The KSD Nanum Foundation of the Korea Securities Depository announced on the 1st that it delivered scholarships of 1 million won each to 30 children of workers at facilities supporting female victims of violence in cooperation with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on the 30th of last month.
The scholarship recipients were selected as high school or university student children of workers who have worked for more than three years at facilities supporting female victims of violence and have excellent work performance, comprehensively considering household characteristics (single-parent, multiple children, etc.) and income levels.
The KSD Nanum Foundation has supported a total of 157 people with scholarships (157 million won) over the past six years (2014?2019).
Considering the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the scholarship certificate awarding ceremony was not held this time; instead, the selected scholarship students were individually given the scholarship certificates along with a CEO letter and souvenirs from Lee Myung-ho, Chairman of the Nanum Foundation.
The Korea Securities Depository signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2013 to realize a safe society free from female violence (domestic violence, sexual violence, prostitution, etc.) and has continuously supported burnout prevention training programs for workers at facilities supporting female victims of violence and scholarship support for their children through the Nanum Foundation every year. This year, considering the COVID-19 situation, only the scholarship support project for workers' children was conducted.
